This shirt was designed to support Michael Henry’s team for the 13th Annual Heat It to Beat It walk – to take place in Baltimore, MD on September 18, 2022.
Michael is a 2 year survivor of appendix cancer stemming from peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). A 16-hour surgery that included a treatment called Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC), conduced at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, saved his life. HIPEC is a heated chemotherapy that is delivered directly to the abdomen immediately after the surgical removal of advanced abdominal cancers.
Many patients do not know about HIPEC nor how to battle the various occurrences of PC. Funds raised from each purchase of this shirt go directly to Mercy’s program to raise awareness and help cancer patients survive these rare cancers.
