Burris, founded by vocalist Christopher Burris Hochkeppel at the LSU School of Music, is a New Orleans based roots-rock band. Described as “a gumbo of music”, the group mixes soulful vocals with Jazz harmonies and Funk grooves creating a unique southern sound. The band centers it's eclectic sound around gritty New Orleans tradition and southern-folk music, but can also be seen playing as an acoustic act as well as a full-fledged, six piece rock band. Burris has played French Quarter Fest and in 2015 put out their first album “Meant To Be”
Amidst Covid 19: The band is currently doing live performances on facebook and will be releasing a sophomore album in 2020 with the help of legendary Grammy winning producer/engineer, Chris Finney.
