Housing is part of healthcare. LaFHAC has shifted nearly all of its policy and advocacy work to the immediate housing needs that the pandemic is creating in our community and across the state. During times of crisis, vulnerable communities especially benefit from our work to halt evictions, foreclosure sales, and public housing authority terminations across the state.

New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that educates a diverse community of learners to sustain an ever-evolving hospitality industry. NOCHI offers a platform for professional and personal growth, increasing access and minimizing barriers to career pathways while supporting the promotion and economic development of the culinary arts and hospitality industry.

Culture Aid NOLA is a collaborative relief effort of several local non-profits in the culture and hospitality sectors uniting to provide direct assistance, resources and information to underserved members of the community. CAN offers no-barrier aid to all who need help, reaching those most vulnerable, who would be otherwise unable to access assistance.

Coastal wetlands deterioration is currently and will continue to greatly impact businesses, the nations energy, fish ecosystems, and much more. Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is a Nonprofit Organization advocating to bring awareness to the deteriorating wetlands as well as coordinating volunteers to help rebuild.

Woodlands Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust organization working to protect and restore remaining forested wetlands and other ecologically significant lands in Louisiana. We manage the 650-acre Woodlands Trail that is located at 449 F. Edward Hebert Blvd. in Belle Chasse. Woodlands Trail provides over 10 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding that are free and open to the public.

Youth Run NOLA was founded by agroup of middle and high-school teachersin 2010 as an after-school club as a responseto students needing and asking for more structured, supportive after-school programs. 

Dancing Grounds (DG) is a multigenerational arts organization that brings inclusive and accessible dance programs to New Orleans residents of all ages.

Grow Dat envisions a New Orleans where local youth in a diverse setting can learn about transforming their communities through growing their own food. Through the 5 month spring program the Crew Members work with small groups of 10 students from seeding and weeding the farm to transplanting and harvesting the crops.

New Orleans Habitat For Humanity partners with local families, volunteers, sponsors, and organizations to build affordable housing. Through this process homebuyer families are empowered to transform their own lives, and the need for decent shelter becomes a matter of conscience and action.

Founded in 1986, YLC is proud to celebrate its 35th anniversary developing leadership skills in young professionals through civic engagement and community projects. Back in 1994, YLC launched its now famous “New Orleans: Proud to Call It Home” civic pride campaign to reinvigorate enthusiasm in the Crescent City among its residents.

Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) partners with farming families in Central America to improve their well-being through long-term technical assistance in regenerative agriculture. With the support of local field trainers, partnering families adopt practices that restore soil health, protect biodiversity, and halt tropical deforestation.

WYES signed on the air for the first time on April 1, 1957. Since then, their mission has been to provide content that educates, informs, and inspires the people of Southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They strive to enrich the lives of children by providing them award-winning programs dedicated to local culture.

The mission of Women With A Vision is to improve the lives of marginalized women, their families, and communities by addressing the social conditions that hinder their health and well-being. We accomplish this through relentless advocacy, health education, supportive services, and community-based participatory research.

Their mission is to give the children of New Orleans the keys to claim their musical heritage and the tools to build their creative legacy through music education.

UnCommon Construction uses the build process to empower youth with the skills, network, resources, and experience to lead the workforce after high school or college.  Through unCommon's high school apprenticeship program, students from different schools apply to join a diverse team to earn hourly pay and school credit for building a house in a semester.

Compost NOW’s mission is to empower local residents to take collective action over the issue of food waste by making composting accessible for every person in New Orleans. Compost NOW offers free residential food waste collections across New Orleans and partners with local farms and gardens to turn the collected food scraps into nutrient rich compost or use it to feed farm animals.

LOVE. HOPE. HEAL. These three words represent the work Children’s Bureau of New Orleans has been doing for the last 130 years. We offer community-based, evidence-informed counseling to young people and families impacted by trauma, violence, or loss. 

To raise awareness of heart health, heart disease prevention, provide heart health education, integrate physical fitness/exercise/sport activities and encourage healthy lifestyle choices for young girls aged 10-18 and their families.

The New Orleans Musician's Clinic and Assistance Foundation is a multifaceted, musician's advocacy organization, serving a profession that is historically uninsured, and under-protected.

The New Orleans Business Alliance is the accredited economic development organization for the city of New Orleans. In response to COVID-19, the Business Alliance established the Gig Economy Relief Fund to directly benefit our city's musicians, rideshare drivers, artists, and others who have lost their income due to the pandemic.

Louvis Services is a non-profit, permanent supportive housing developer. Our mission is to spark hope, encourage innovation and find the best solutions to house and support people who are homeless. Our goal is to increase available housing for people who are homeless by building one-bedroom tiny house duplexes. Services along with an edible landscape program will help to support tenants as they build more stable, healthy and productive lives.

NOOA aspires to connect people to the arts and each other through the joy of opera. 

Covenant House builds a bridge to hope for young people facing homelessness and survivors of trafficking through unconditional love, absolute respect, and relentless support.

Goat in the Road Productions (GRP) is an award-winning New Orleans based performance ensemble dedicated to the production of original and invigorating new works of theatre and educational programming. 

The mission of the Greater New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to facilitate the well-being of the New Orleans Jewish community and educate its members on Judaism and its heritage by providing a space built on Jewish values, but is welcome to everyone. The NOJCC provides activities for all ages and families like exercise and dance classes, sports leagues, summer camps, family activities, art classes, and many more!

The Roots of Music's mission is to empower New Orleans youth through music education, academic support, and mentorship while preserving and promoting the city's unique cultural heritage. To respond to COVID-19, Roots transitioned all programming online and sanitized and delivered instruments so our students could continue learning music during this difficult time.

The National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana (NKFL) has been making lives better for over 50 years. Founded in 1969, our organization serves kidney and transplant patients through programs and services that impact public health. NKFL is the major statewide voluntary non-profit health organization dedicated to keeping kidney health at the forefront of Louisiana culture through awareness, prevention, treatment and organ donation advocacy.

Born as a front porch pandemic project by “The World’s Show-busiest Couple”, Kitten N’ Lou, this beloved lil’ Bywater pop up has become a local fave, with creative all natural flavors and a commitment to social justice and community outreach. Queer and woman owned and operated! 

Fish in a Tree is a community center in New Orleans that provides support and resources for neurodivergent individuals of all ages (Autism, ADHD, OCD, Learning Differences, Sensory Processing Disorders, and more), their families, and loved ones. We recognize neurodiversity as an intersectional experience and a social justice issue, and offer a range of programs and services to promote inclusion, equity, and social justice for all.

Burris, founded by vocalist Christopher Burris Hochkeppel at the LSU School of Music, is a New Orleans based roots-rock band. Described as “a gumbo of music”, the group mixes soulful vocals with Jazz harmonies and Funk grooves creating a unique southern sound.

LOOP NOLA makes the outdoors more equitable for underserved, urban children and youth so everyone can experience the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor recreation along with the joy and awe that are created in natural spaces.

Born in 2012 from a call for community innovators to present solutions to repurpose vacant lots, PlayBuild transforms urban spaces into dynamic play and learning environments to empower kids to design their futures.

Established in 1914 the Prytania Theatre is over 105 years old. The Prytania Theatre is the oldest Single Screen- Movie House still operating in Louisiana and only Single Screen theater in New Orleans.

The Prytania Theatre has been an integral part of the New Orleans community for many years and we look forward to serving the community far into the future.

The Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans is a nonprofit French language school and cultural center for all ages and abilities. We are one of the leading providers of French language and culture education in the New Orleans area. A member of the international network of Alliance Française chapters, located in over 100 different countries, the AFNO is a part of the largest network of French language and cultural centers in the world.
